PRESS RELEASE
ASEAN-Japan Centre is scheduled to hold "ASEAN Fashion Goods
Exhibition" from June 1 (Fri.) to August 31 (Fri.), 2001 at its
Permanent Exhibition Hall (PEH) in Ginza, Tokyo. The exhibition will
introduce a wide range of fashion goods imported from 8 ASEAN member
countries, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines,
Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The admission will be free. This
year, the ASEAN-Japan Centre welcomes Cambodia as our new member and
this will be the first time for Cambodia to participate in this exhibition.
Fashion related industries in ASEAN countries led by young business
people and fashion designers have been making steady progress in product
developments and manufacturing quality products adapting the world
fashion trends with the feeling of Asian tastes.
Thirty (30) exhibitors have been carefully screened and selected by
the trade promotion organizations of the 8 member countries with the
advice of Japanese commodity experts dispatched by the Centre prior
to this exhibition. These potential exhibitors consist of 2 companies
from Cambodia and 4 from the rest of each member countries. The exhibits
cover a wide range of products such as bags, shawls, scarfs, handkerchiefs,
wallets, pouches, accessories, ladies shoes, and hats.
In addition, we will invite the representatives of the exhibitors
to Japan to hold the business meetings with Japanese buyers at the
PEH for 3 days from July 17 (Tue.) to 19 (Thurs.), 2001. Prior appointments
are necessary and free interpreters will be provided upon requests.
